PF / ESI Compliance

Provident Fund (PF) is one of the most used Investment schemes for the Salaried class in our country. This is also the most complicated labour compliance for employers for many reasons. After the digitization in the PF department, every activity related to PF compliance made available on the click of the mouse. The digitization helped to reduce repetitive clerical work for the employer and also benefitted the subscriber immensely. However, this brings a new kind of challenge for employers, particularly those are managing the compliance through their internal resource, that is to keep updated the person with the portal requirement that includes technology and know-how about the portal. The large organization that hires a compliance person for this work manages it well but those organization that assigns this compliance as an additional duty to their HR/Accounts team suffers a lot. This is equally true for ESI. Any delay in submitting information to the portal means a show-cause notice to the employer or interest demand. Also, delay in submitting employee information to the portal leads to a loss of credibility among the employees.
